The Lefevre Peninsula is the most salt-exposed housing in metropolitan Adelaide. Systems here need marine-grade hardware and a proper coastal specification, installed by an accredited team that will still be around in ten years.
The Lefevre Peninsula has water on both sides. Homes at Semaphore, Largs Bay, Largs North, Taperoo, Osborne and North Haven get salt air from the gulf on one side and the river on the other, and there is very little between them and the weather. This is the most corrosion-exposed residential area in metropolitan Adelaide, and it is where an inland specification fails fastest.
Homes near the water need a different specification to homes inland, and it is the single most common thing done badly on the coast. Salt carried on the sea breeze attacks the parts of a solar system nobody looks at: the mounting rails, the roof feet, the fixings and the frames around the panels. A system built to a standard inland specification can look fine for three or four years and then start showing corrosion at every bracket. We specify marine-grade mounting hardware and anodised framing for coastal installs, and we set the system back from exposed edges where the roof allows it.
The housing itself is a real mix. Around Semaphore and the Port there are character cottages and villas, often with original iron roofs and heritage overlays that need a careful approach and sometimes a discussion about panel placement and visibility from the street. Out toward North Haven and the marina there is newer stock with straightforward modern roofs. Through Birkenhead, Ethelton, Exeter and Glanville there is a lot of solid postwar housing on decent blocks. Then there is the industrial and commercial side of the Port, where three-phase supply and larger rooftop arrays are common and where the return on a well-sized commercial system is usually strong.
We are based at Gawler Belt, about forty minutes up the road, and have installed across South Australia since 2004, roughly 6,000 systems. We are not claiming to be a Port local. What we bring is our own CEC accredited crew rather than subcontracted labour, a coastal specification that is actually applied, and a business with enough history behind it to honour a warranty years from now.

From a character cottage in Semaphore to a marina home at North Haven or a workshop in the Port, we have a system sized and specified to suit it.
